Tuborg is going
on shuffle
with Clean Bandit
Tuborg OPEN is back for its third year, featuring Grammy award winners Clean Bandit. The trio, made up of Grace Chatto and brothers Luke and Jack Patterson, has released two albums and sold 44 million global singles, working with artists such as Sean Paul, Zara Larsson, Demi Lovato, Craig David, KYLE, Ellie Goulding and many more.
Tuborg Open uses music as a platform to encourage people to be Open to More by pushing the boundaries of what they know and like. This search for discovery is like putting a playlist “on shuffle”, allowing music fans to open their minds to new and diverse experiences.
This year, Tuborg Open is inviting Clean Bandit and their fans to go “on shuffle” around the globe to take inspiration from a diverse set of new artists. The trio, whose musical style fuses different genres including classical, pop and electro, have firmly established themselves as one of the most collaborative groups of all time, making them the perfect fit for Tuborg Open.
We’re excited to be going to visit artists and fans in these five countries as part of Tuborg OPEN. We’re always keen to get out to different places and absorb the culture.Grace Chatto (Clean Bandit)
As an artist, it’s really important to be open to new ways of making music. A willingness to try new things is key to collaboration and is something that we’ve always tried to do since coming together as Clean Bandit.Luke Patterson (Clean Bandit)
In 2019, will be pressing shuffle on Clean Bandit’s musical choices and inspirations and travelling to five different countries - China, India, Nepal, Russia and Vietnam – where a local artist will collaborate with the band and take them on an immersive experience into their local culture and music. There will be time to meet the fans and to work in the studio with the local artist on a new track which will incorporate all the new experiences of the city. 'We’re excited to be going to visit artists and fans in these five countries as part of Tuborg OPEN - says Grace Chatto - There are a couple of places like China and Russia that we have been to in the past and had great experiences there, but we’re always keen to get out to different places and absorb the culture.'
To be able to fully immerse ourselves in a new culture, with the local musician on hand to open doors and guide us through their city is an amazing opportunity for us as people and artists.
In numerous other countries, including Ukraine, Serbia and Bosnia, locally selected artists will be taking an existing Clean Bandit track and creating their own cover version, inspired by the both their influences and the original track. Describing the opportunity to collaborate with new artists, Luke Patterson said, 'As an artist, it’s really important to be open to new ways of making music. A willingness to try new things is key to collaboration and is something that we’ve always tried to do since coming together as Clean Bandit. We’re excited that through this campaign we’re able to continue collaborating with artists around the world and look forward to sharing new experiences with some really talented musicians.'
Check back here later in the year to catch up with the action from Clean Bandit’s visits to China, India, Nepal, Vietnam and Russia, as well as the Tuborg OPEN tracks as they are released later in the summer.
