Ready to take the stage?

Tuborg Open has invited emerging music artists from around the world to LA, for a once-in-a-lifetime mentoring experience with Jason Derulo.

After one-on-one and group sessions with Jason discussing their music, their songwriting, their performance, and after receiving precious advice on how to be a success in the industry, each artist went on to perform in front of Jason, taking the stage of the legendary Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles.

It has been an amazing journey for these artists but also for us, to see them connect and develop so much during those days. They are brave and talented and have accepted a great challenge with the "why not!" attitude that we love. Read about them below and follow their journey.

STOPOSTO, Bosnia and Herzegovina

26 year old Stoposto began writing lyrics at 14 years old. His music feeds on rap, hip hop and synth-wave and he has conquered a space in the underground rap scene in Bosnia. Being part of a small scene, in a small country, requires a special drive and a huge passion for what you do and Stoposto definitely has both! Weaving visual storytelling, lyrics and beats, he has been on a unique journey that has now taken him to LA with Tuborg, to “take the stage” and be mentored by Jason Derulo. DEE MC, India

If you think being a female MC in India is easy, think again. If you think it is impossible, meet Dee MC. Dee wrote poetry in school and her knack for languages soon turned into a rebellious hip hop flow. For 10 years she has mixed talent, personality and determination showing both industry and society that they are wrong: Indian girls can rap and be amazing at it! She is part of great community of hip-hop artists in Bombay and has shone brightly on the Tuborg Open stage. Follow her on Spotify and give it a listen!

VEK, Nepal

The first time Nepal heard about VEK was in 2018 when he took the stage of “The Voice” and reached the semi-finals. He has since continued to produce music and released his last album in December 2021. But there is a lot more about VEK than his amazing talent. Together with a friend, he started an independent label in Nepal to give emerging artists a fair chance of getting their music heard. VEK believes that if a Nepalese artist breaks through internationally, it will do great things for the whole music industry in Nepal. Having met him and listened to his music, we really hope that taking the stage with Tuborg Open and Jason Derulo will do exactly that for him and for so many talented artists in Nepal. HALKO, Türkiye

Halko is what you could call an all-round creative. Founder of an online magazine in Türkiye, he has also been making music since 2007 and he has released 15 songs, one EP and is now working on a new release for 2022. His music, produced in his home studio in London, fuses Turkish hip-hop and afro-beat. He has always dreamt of performing to big crowds in his hometown in Türkiye. He has now had the chance to take the stage in LA, together with Tuborg and Jason Derulo. Is his dream closer to coming true? SHOKHRULLO ABDULLAEV, Uzbekistan

Shokhrullo Abdullaev, 28, uses music to share his experiences and emotions. It was musical theatre in the beginning that inspired him to make his own music. Based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where he has his own studio, Shokhrullo loves to travel and find exotic locations for his music videos. This time he has travelled all the way to LA with Tuborg to meet and work with Jason Derulo. Is he now ready to take the stage and bring fresh beats to Uzbek music? IVA LORENS, Serbia

Having lived between Berlin and Belgrade, Iva started singing when she was 16 years old and trained her voice singing in choirs. She is a natural born performer, and her lyrics flawlessly roam between Serbian and English. Her dream is to be the first artist from the Balkans to break through internationally – and from seeing her on stage in LA we definitely think her dreams have a good chance of coming true!
